Aha!  Another blog entry earlier than 6 months from my last.  Hopefully this will continue.

Started The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks recently.  I like it!  Oozing with quality, exactly what I expect from the Zelda teams.  It's also got some stuff that seems new to the series.  Zelda (the princess) has a lot of character, and is quite funny.  There's also a lot more voicework done for the game (though still no actual spoken words).  They grabbed a new voice actor for Link, and he actually sounds like a different 'Link', than the other ones.  The game apparently takes place around 60-80 years after Phantom Hourglass, as there have been a few characters pop up from that game and recognize you.  It's cool :)

So, fireworks occurring at Activision.  They came up with some bullcrap investigation into the two heads of Infinity Ward, developers of the video game with the biggest launch in history across all forms of entertainment, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.  They managed to fire them, and announced the Call of Duty series would be taking a new direction, with another branch into another genre (action-adventure? third person maybe?), another Treyarch game, and another game developed by an unnamed developer.  They also mentioned Blizzard's profit model in what they were looking at for CoD.  Woohoo pay2play subscription-based CoD!  We get it Activision, you know how to kill largely successful franchises.  You did it to Tony Hawk, you did it to Guitar Hero, you really don't need to keep going.  But boy oh boy do I want to see them fall from their frozen throne (LOLGEDDITJKLOL).

Oh, right, those two guys have announced that they're going to be suing Activision for unpaid wages, because believe it or not, apparently they didn't get paid much for making the biggest video game of the generation.  I really, really hope they get every penny they can.

Found inspiration to really think about my future through an anime, oddly enough.  It's called Honey & Clover.  It's about a group of college students of varying ages, and basically follows them through their college careers, job hunts, and early adulthood.  Really has me thinking about my future and what I'm going to do when I get out of college.  It also has me realizing I need to get my butt in gear and start learning some actual skills that I could use at jobs.

At the same time, I still can't think of any profession that I really would like to do, especially that's feasible.  I enjoy art, but I'm nowhere near a good enough artist to pursue any kind of career in it, and it's already too late for me to start practicing and getting better.  I enjoy computers and am more than capable of learning different things in programming and whatnot, but I don't seem to find much of it enjoyable.  Well really, it's fun when you know what you're doing and can really complete a project and see your creations go to work, but it all seems very difficult to me.  I'm not terribly creative, and it often obstructs my ability to come up with solutions in programming, which is what it's all about.

Something I think I'm good at that could be halfway useful in the world, is managing different kinds of projects, and really putting together plans to get things rolling and make things work.  The perfectionist in me really kicks in and makes sure that every aspect of everything involved is covered.  Although, that's something else that's too late for me to really pursue.  I'd probably need to be in some kind of business school.  Although maybe not.  I guess they have project managers for all different kinds of things.  Blah, but does that mean people go to school to learn a profession, and also go to school and learn business and management and whatnot?  Ack.  I don't know.

For now I'm going to keep looking into web design.  Interface Developer is an enticing position to me.  Artists take care of all the creative work in web development.  Programmers program all the little complicated gadgets and other things that might appear on the web page.  Interface Developers (I think is what they were called...) just take all the pieces and put them together.  It's a fairly uniform job that requires a certain skillset, and most of the work is straightforward, so I won't have to get stressed out and worry about not being able to come up with complicated solutions, or spend dozens of hours making sure some piece of artwork is perfect.

With that said, I think I'm going to get the ball rolling on learning more PHP and CSS.  I just really want to find a good resource to learn from.  I guess I have some 'for Dummies' books I can take a look at, but those always seemed so focused on small things like making a little website for your independent business using some exact set of tools, that won't end up being versatile or useful elsewhere.  Yet when I look elsewhere a lot of times sites on the internet cater to those who already have a good idea on what web design is all about.

Bah, I'll figure something out.  It's good that I'm thinking about it anyways.

Music: Passion Pit - Little Secrets www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxL9Ho…

If you haven't heard that song yet, go listen to it, I'm pretty sure it's impossible to dislike.  Also been listening to some other stuff I grabbed, like Weezer and The Used's latest albums, Souls of Mischief's newest album, and Eureka Seven music :P

At least to keep things nice and updated on my Backloggery.  Entries might start getting shorter.

Actually, I'll probably blog about whatever.  My excuse for motivation will be to use it as a game blog.

Anyhow, Uncharted 2 multiplayer DLC came out, and it's schweeet. Eddy Raja is too good.  I also like the new patch for it.  People die much, much faster, and things just make more sense and are less frustrating.  Doesn't take an entire clip to take someone out.

Me and Greco finally found atleast a third to play Crystal Chronicles with us: Seth, who loves it.  Played it a ton last weekend, and probably will play it a lot this weekend as well.  Excited to finally finish the game.  Been wanting to for years.  Next time Jared's in town we'll have to hit up Four Swords Adventures for sure.

Started Metal Arms: Glitch in the System.  It seems a bit like an indie title, but at the same time has some great animation and cutscenes.  But yeah, there are definitely shortcomings.  The game is very difficult as well... A bit frustrating at times.

Very close to finishing Golden Sun: The Lost Age.  Can't wait to be done with it, move onto Spirit Tracks, and then move on to POKEYMANS when it comes out in a few weeks.

Also, new Mario Galaxy 2 and Metroid: Other M media.  Both games will be out by June! Incredible.  Getting both day one.

School's going alright.  Doing good in all classes except Architecture & Assembler.  Those circuits are kickin' my butt.  Hopefully everything will click with me though and I can come out of the class with an okay grade.  At lowest I'll settle for a C.  My grades in my other class will bring my GPA up just fine.

Also, finding some new people on Backloggery that live in the area :D  I'd actually like to just meet more gamers who collect and whatnot, and become real friends with 'em.  It'd be nice to find more anime fans in the area as well.

All right I think I'm done for now.

Oh, I'ma provide links to my musics of the moment as well:

Oh, and leave me comments anywhere.  Deviantart, Facebook, Backloggery, wherever >_>

So I linked this blog to my Backloggery (www.backloggery.com/mit) but like five people ever even see that, and I write this blog on DeviantART, and like, even less people see that, but I just figured out you can link RSS feeds to Facebook, and now I can post it there too as notes :)  Although they'll probably just fade into my wall and never be seen by anyone for longer than 10 minutes.

Anyhow, still working on this Squirtle Squad picture.  One of these days I'm going to try and work on it at home instead of work, as I'll actually have some motivation to get a lot of it done.  It's getting there, just one Squirtle and the background to finish up.

On the vidya games front, I recently finished Sam & Max Hit the Road, Half-Life, Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem, and Full Throttle (yeah, all of those are old games, I've got just a tiny bit of massive catching up to do), and am currently working on Fire Emblem (GBA, I hate how long these games take to finish), Resident Evil Zero (haet u scary gamez), and am going to be starting Half-Life: Blue Shift (or Opposing Force, whichever comes first...) and Grim Fandango.  That sure makes me sound like I play video games a lot more than I do O.o  (if I played them more I wouldn't have such a massive backlog to catch up on).

Heck, I'll stack my animu geekdom on top of all this.  I just finished watching Chobits the other night.  It was pretty good, buuuut falling in love with robots over humans just does not cut it for me, even if they look and almost act just like humans.  Gonna catch up on my Detective Conan and Bleach though, then start Heat Guy J (I've got a backlog of old animu to catch up on too...)

Uh, life? Eh, the usual.  Still looking for time to finish up Hotly's latest masterpiece, and I want to do something else Hotly related this summer but I don't think it's gonna happen.  I've got a few other things in mind that I'd like to do though, even if it's just solo.

Boy am I bad with journal updates.  I guess I'm just not much of a journal guy.  It's been over a year since I returned to deviantART and started working on new artwork.  And I've been pretty consistent!  I'd definitely like to spend even more time on deviantART though, and customize my page a bit and make use of this journal.  Perhaps I'll use this for status updates on what's going on in my life as far as art, music, and games go.

As of late, I've been playing a lot of video games because of this site: www.backloggery.com/mit .  It's a website a few friends told me about where you can build a list of all of your video games and keep track of the ones you have and have not completed yet.

Which is perfect for me!  If you visit my page there, you can see I've got hundreds of games I both own or don't own yet that I'd like to play.  However, I don't seem to have nearly enough time to complete them all.  The site has given me a rather large boost of motivation to play games more often though, so I've been spending a lot of time at home and at work (on my laptop and DS) playing games instead of doing things like artwork.

I can't seem to stay away from one thing for too long though, so I'm currently about to start drawing more and finishing my last piece I was doing for the fanart competition at Smashboards.  It's pretty much dead now, but I'd like to finish my entry (featuring the Squirtle Squad :3 ) as I think it looks good and I made use of some new techniques in the picture.

So, that'll be my next deviation.  After that I'm going back full steam into drawing better anime/manga characters.  I'm either going to draw a new full body picture of myself to use as an avatar on various sites (like my nonexistent deviantID here), or continue learning to draw wiminz better.

And if anyone replies to this, does anyone know if it's possible to set these blogs up as RSS feeds?  I don't know anything about RSS, but I know I can link to blogs on my Backloggery page, and it would be neat if I could link to this blog from there using RSS.

I'm going to be coming back.  I can't believe I posted I'd be using this again waaay back in August 06.  It doesn't seem like it was nearly that long ago.

Anyhow, I'm out of high school, currently attending Lawrence Technological University, and they loan laptops to all of their students, and starting in the Fall of 07, they began using tablets :D

I've been fiddling with my tablet doing many non-school related things since, although I have a small problem with taking forever to finish any of my work.  After a current big project (that I should be posting in a couple days here) I'm going to begin working on shorter projects that shouldn't take up so much time (and not concentrate as much on making my lineart so clean).

Hopefully I'll upload some other normal art on here as well.  Sorry to people who were fans of my pixel art.  I do still love pixel art, but my love for anime has grown a lot (and I have a tablet) and now all I want to do is draw big stuff.  If I could get involved in a large project that I was interested in, I'd totally pick up pixel art again, but my skills haven't improved as much as I wish they'd have, and seeing some other artists' fantastic work discourages me in the pixel art field >.>

Anyhow, I should be updating this more often, hopefully I upload some of my remaining pixel art I never showed off here, and hopefully I can get some new friends from my new stuff.

- Oh and, if anyone wants to tell me how to get a picture of myself under the Devious information section, I'd be greatly appreciative >.>
